Welcome! Looking for psychological assistance when suffering is a sign of strength.
I specialize in the following: Chronic illness, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Most people sense that they have the potential to increase satisfaction in their lives but they do not know how to bring forth their full potential to live more fulfilling lives. To this end, I facilitate the ongoing discovery to create a life that is worth living by untangling from aspects that are no longer working for you.
My typical client is one that wants to be their most authentic version of themselves in their work, relationships, purpose and meaning, leadership, etc. I have provided psychotherapy to hundreds of clients and they often described their healing journey as a "life-changing" experience.
My experience ranges from in-depth, mindfulness, to somatic, existential-humanistic, interpersonal, and cognitive approaches within a cultural-relevant framework. All and every session is tailored to reflect your needs and your unique context. My approach is to co-create safety to facilitate deep understandings so that you can open to considering making choices more conducive to empowerment while providing genuine opportunities to experience your authentic self.
I received a PhD from the Texas A&M University Counseling Psychology department continually accredited by the American Psychological Association since 1981. I completed an accredited internship in the VA Caribbean Healthcare System in Puerto Rico which training was focused on the integration of physical and psychological components. I also received a Master of Arts in Education from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from California State University, Long Beach.
I am bilingual in Spanish. I hold a strong social justice commitment to providing culturally sensitive and evidence-based interventions in all areas of my clinical practice.
